Christian Science Committee on Institutional Work in Orange County (CSCIWOC)

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

 ~ II Corinthians 5:17

We are a group of Christian Scientists, members of the local Orange County branch churches of California, who work together to fulfill the healing ministry of the Christian Science Committee on Institutional Work in Orange County (CSCIWOC).

Permission to hold religious services in Orange County penal Institutions was granted by Sheriff James A. Musick in 1961. The first Christian Science church service was held in the chapel of the newly constructed, Theo Lacy facility. Our committee has faithfully provided weekly church services and chaplain visits for individuals seeking answers to prayer for more than half a century. Today, eleven local Christian Science churches and their memberships support our activities in Orange County. The Orange County branch churches are the backbone of the Committee, and these churches appoint representatives who become members of the Committee.

If you are a member of one of these churches, please join us.
